If it seems that I’ve been among the missing, it’s only because I’ve been involved with a lot of projects that have kept me very occupied. 2014, by far, will be the best year PipesandCigars.com has ever had. We’ve undergone tremendous growth, and, of course, it’s all thanks to our valued customers. We’d like to think that we had a little to do with it, as well, because we’ve scoured the world, literally, to bring you outstanding buys on quality products. We’ve recently greatly expanded our selection of premium cigars, and we’re adding more every day. But just because we’ve had a great year doesn’t mean we’re going to rest on our laurels.
We just rolled out the newest entry to our Hearth & Home Marquee Series, called Viprati, named for our friend, the renowned Italian pipe maker, Luigi Viprati. It’s a rich Virginia/Perique blend with a special fire-cured tobacco added for depth. The people who sampled it prior to production loved it, and it even tastes better now that it’s had time in the tin.. But that’s only the first of more than forty new blends that we’ll be bringing your way before the end of 2015. Coming soon will be six economical blends in 14 oz. tubs for those who have been disappointed by the disappearance of some of their favorites, or have been scared off by rising prices. Early next year, we will introduce not one, but two new brands of pipes that will offer superlative quality without a big price tag. We will be adding to the popular Decatur Pipe Shield line of cleaning products with new items that will be top-notch, but with budget-friendly prices, and more new accessories are on the way.
You may have noticed that we were involved in helping bring Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky back to the US, and we’re working behind the scenes to try to resurrect more “retired” blends. We’re all looking forward to 2015 with great anticipation, and we hope that you’ll enjoy what’s coming your way.
I am waiting with great anticipation for all this great new stuff to happen in 2015.
Help!!! I have been trying to weed out my current mountain of tobacco so that I can buy more and different Hearth and Home and the most popular McClellan Virginias. Now I understand there will be as many as forty more! I’m overwhelmed. By the way, when is Magnum Opus coming back in bulk? I wanted some before Christmas and you apparently sold out of it and other bulk blends I was ready to order. Is there a target date where all of the stock will be back in bulk?
The problem is that the Marquee Series tobaccos don’t contain humectants, so they dry out fairly quickly. We had gotten some complaints about the flavor becoming flatter when purchased in bulk, and that’s the only reasonable explanation. If we feel that we can solve that problem to my satisfaction, we’ll bring back the bulk.
Good God, Russ…first tin was waiting for me when I arrived home from work, and I can’t keep my nose out of it. Chocolate, leather, cherries and then some. Subzero windchill outside and I don’t smoke indoors, so that “Anticipation” song is running through my head. Can’t wait to light this up!
If the Marquee Series does not come back in bulk might we expect 8oz tins in the future?
That’s our plan.
