We’ve learned all about the effects of age on pipe tobacco, and the “why and how” of having your own tobacco cellar to age your pipe tobacco in. I think we can all agree that there are just some tobaccos that aren’t as enjoyable without a bit of age behind them. Giving certain pipe tobacco blends the time to “marry” can make all the difference in the world.
It is for that very reason that we’ve started to offer our very own aged pipe tobacco at PipesandCigars.com! The Vintage Vault contains a variety of blends, by many different companies. Having a warehouse full of premium blend pipe tobacco has made it very easy for so many of our tins to age without us even realizing it! During a recent reorganization of our inventory, we unearthed some pipe tobaccos ranging in age from between 4 and 10 years old!
You may be wondering how we know how old these tins are… well, each manufacturer stamps the tins with the date the tobacco was vacuum sealed in each individual tin. (See the photo below.) Due to space restrictions, and other un-intended variables, we unknowingly wound up aging a wide variety of pipe tobaccos.
So, when you get tired of waiting for your stored tobaccos to age, or you find yourself reading about aged tobaccos in your favorite smoker’s forums, go to the Vintage Vault to check out the variety of currently available aged tobaccos! We list the age of each item on the details page. This is quickly becoming one of the most visited pages on the site, so bookmark it, and visit often… you never know what we’ll find next!
