Seattle Pipe Club‘s “Mississippi River” pipe tobacco is one of three currently available, and all were created by a member of the pipe club, Joe Lankford. Plum Pudding is a rich and smoky English-style, Mississippi River is an unusually robust Virginia-heavy blend, and Seattle Evening is redolent with fragrant Orientals.
This time we get to go outside with Jeff, and he even shows off a zippo lighter trick! He’s smoking a Medico pipe in this one, but doesn’t stay outside long due to the bitter cold. I have to admit, it has been freezing and windy here in NY too, I probably wouldn’t have gone outside to smoke lol. This is the kind of weather that breeds “creative redecorating”… like arranging a temporary exhaust fan so I can stay warm and smoke inside!
In the video, Jeff reads the label on the tobacco tin, which refers to “Joe” the blender that created the tobacco. Jeff states, “… The way Joe tells it… who’s the blender over at PipesandCigars.com…”. The “Joe” referred to on the label is Joe Lankford, a member of the Seattle Pipe Club. Joe is the blender that created all of the Seattle Pipe Club blends. Joe doesn’t work at PipesandCigars.com, Russ Ouellette does. Russ created the Hearth & Home pipe tobacco blends, and is the Master Blender here at PipesandCigars.com.
Whew. *smiles* Now that we’ve got our blenders straight… enjoy the review, and comment below to let us know if you’ve tried Mississippi River, and what your thoughts on it are!
